Split a PDF without uploading the document

PDF files can contain identity documents, contracts, invoices, admit cards and other information that users may not want to upload to a remote converter. This PDF Page Splitter performs page selection in the browser. The file is opened from your device, native JavaScript reads its page structure, and the extracted document is created as a Blob for direct download. AllFast.in does not need a server-side upload endpoint for the operation.

The range field accepts compact expressions such as 1-3, 5, 8. The parser expands each range into individual page numbers, removes duplicates while preserving the requested order, rejects numbers outside the document, and then copies only those pages into a new PDF.

How page extraction works

A PDF is not a collection of independent image files. Pages can reference shared fonts, images, annotations and object streams. The local PDF parser resolves those dependencies and writes a valid new cross-reference structure. Simply cutting byte ranges from the original file would usually create a corrupt document. That is why this tool parses PDF objects and references before writing a new page tree.

Thumbnail previews use the browser’s built-in PDF viewer where available. Preview appearance and availability vary by browser; extraction does not depend on previews. The preview is for page identification; the exported PDF uses copied page objects rather than screenshots, so vector text and embedded content remain PDF data when supported by the source document.

Step-by-step PDF splitting

  1. Drag a PDF into the upload area or choose it from your device.
  2. Wait for the page count and local preview strip to appear.
  3. Enter the pages you need, such as 1-2, 7, 10-12.
  4. Check that every requested page number is within the displayed total page count.
  5. Select Export Extracted PDF. The browser creates a new PDF containing only those pages.
  6. Open the downloaded file and verify page order, signatures, forms and attachments before deleting the original.

India and Bangladesh use cases

In India, users often need one page from a multi-page Aadhaar-related download, an application PDF, an invoice bundle, a scanned agreement or a college document. In Bangladesh, the same workflow is useful for extracting selected pages from recruitment documents, certificates, statements or scanned records. Local processing is especially useful on shared or slow connections because the original PDF does not have to travel to a conversion server.

Privacy still depends on the device. A browser extension, malware, synchronized download folder or shared computer can expose a file even when the website itself does not upload it. For highly sensitive documents, use a trusted device, keep the browser updated and remove temporary downloads after use.

Encrypted and complex PDFs

Encrypted or password-protected PDFs are rejected. Unlock the document before selecting it. Dynamic XFA forms and unsupported object-stream compression are also rejected. Digitally signed PDFs can lose signature validity when pages are extracted because the new file is not byte-for-byte the signed original. Interactive forms, embedded files, portfolios and advanced annotations may also behave differently after page copying. Keep the original whenever legal authenticity matters.

Offline behavior and browser support

The document bytes are processed locally by this tool’s own JavaScript. No external library, public CDN or conversion API is used. After this page and its local assets have loaded, page extraction does not require a network connection. Compressed PDF object streams require a browser with native DEFLATE support. Keep files below 100 MB and verify the exported document before removing the original.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded to AllFast.in?

No. File reading and page copying happen in the browser. The page does not post the document to an AllFast server.

Can I extract non-consecutive pages?

Yes. Use comma-separated entries such as 1, 4, 9-11. The exporter keeps the requested order and removes duplicate selections.

Will a digital signature remain valid?

Usually not. Creating a new PDF changes the signed byte structure. Keep the signed original for legal or verification purposes.
