Create a UPI payment QR or website QR without uploading your details
This generator is built for a simple job: turn the information you enter into a scannable QR code, let you customize the appearance, preview the result, and export a file you can use digitally or in print. The QR is created in your browser. Your UPI ID, website URL and uploaded logo are not sent to this tool's server by the QR-generation code.
Use UPI Payment Mode when you want a QR that opens a compatible UPI payment flow. Use Custom URL / Website Mode when you want a normal web QR for a landing page, menu, profile, form, product page or other HTTPS address.
What each UPI field does
The payment QR is built from a upi://pay URI. The payee address is placed in the pa parameter, the payee or business name in pn, the currency in cu=INR, and an amount in am only when you enter one. Text is URL-encoded before the QR is generated.
UPI ID / VPA
Enter the payment address exactly as provided by your bank or UPI app, such as name@bank. The green status in this tool checks the format only; it does not prove that the VPA exists, is active, or belongs to a particular person.
Business / Shop Name
Use a short recognizable name. A payer should still confirm the payee identity shown by their UPI app before authorizing payment.
Optional amount
Leave the amount blank for a reusable open-amount QR. Enter an amount when you want the payment app to receive a fixed INR value from the QR data.
Logo and styling
You can add a PNG, JPG or SVG logo up to 2 MB and choose a QR color or dot treatment. The generator uses high error correction and keeps the finder patterns clear to improve scan reliability.
Payment-app logo selector
Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, BharatPe and CRED can be shown or hidden independently. The selection changes only the visual brand row on the card; it does not lock the underlying UPI QR to those apps.
How to make and test a QR
- Choose UPI Payment Mode or Custom URL / Website Mode.
- Enter the requested details and correct any validation warning shown under the input.
- Pick a dot style, color theme and template. In UPI mode, choose which payment-app brand marks you want to show on the card; the preview updates immediately. Upload a shop logo only if it remains easy to recognize at a small size.
- Check the live standee preview or switch to Flat View for a clean card view.
- Before publishing a payment QR, scan it with a separate trusted UPI app and confirm the displayed payee and amount.
- Export the 300 DPI PNG for a high-resolution image, SVG for a scalable standee/card graphic, or the A4 PDF for printing.
Payment safety and merchant use
A QR image does not verify a merchant, guarantee a successful payment, or confirm settlement. Never enter a UPI PIN, OTP, card number or banking password into a QR-generator website. A UPI PIN is used inside a trusted payment app to authorize a debit; it is not required simply to receive money.
For a shop counter, test the printed code after printing and periodically inspect the physical standee for sticker replacement or tampering. If the receiving account changes, remove older copies so customers do not keep paying an outdated VPA.
This page is a QR utility, not a payment processor, acquiring bank or UPI app. Businesses that need merchant onboarding, automated order reconciliation, callbacks, transaction-status verification, merchant category configuration or other production payment infrastructure should use the services and specifications provided by their acquiring bank or payment service provider. NPCI's public UPI information explains that merchants are onboarded through acquiring banks and that QR is one of the available merchant integration modes.
Official reference: NPCI UPI FAQs. Brand names and marks visible in the preview are optional display elements selected by the user; selecting a logo does not change QR compatibility. All trademarks belong to their respective owners, and this tool is not endorsed by those brands or NPCI.
UPI QR vs website QR
A UPI QR contains payment intent data. A website QR contains an ordinary web address. They should not be presented as the same thing. In Website Mode, the preview changes to a neutral “Scan to Visit Website” treatment so visitors are not led to believe that scanning the code will start a payment.
For web QR codes, this tool accepts normal https:// addresses. HTTPS is preferred because it gives visitors a clearer security expectation and avoids intentionally generating a link to insecure HTTP pages.
PNG, SVG and A4 PDF: which format should you use?
PNG is rendered at high resolution and tagged at 300 DPI for crisp digital or print use. SVG keeps the QR modules and built-in payment-app marks as scalable vector artwork, so they stay sharp when resized; an uploaded raster shop logo remains a raster image inside the SVG. PDF is generated at A4 page size from a 2480 × 3508 render (300-DPI A4 pixel dimensions), giving a fixed print-ready page while preserving the same card composition shown by the export system.
Whichever format you choose, leave clear white space around the QR, avoid placing extra graphics over the three large finder patterns, and test the final physical size from the distance at which people are expected to scan it.
Privacy: what stays in the browser
QR generation, styling, logo reading and file creation are performed with browser APIs in tool.js. The tool does not require an account and does not need to send the entered payment details to a QR API. The “My QR Codes” and “Analytics” items in this interface use browser-local storage only; clearing site data can remove that local history and those local counters.
The rest of the website may still use normal site services such as analytics or advertising according to the site's privacy policy. Do not treat this QR utility as a private vault: avoid entering secrets because a UPI ID and a public website URL are meant to be shareable identifiers, not authentication credentials.
Frequently asked questions
Does the green tick prove that a UPI account exists?
No. It checks whether the text resembles a UPI VPA format. Account existence and the real payee identity must be confirmed in a trusted UPI app.
Does this tool receive or move money?
No. It creates QR data and downloadable files. The payment itself is handled by the payer's UPI app, participating banks and payment network.
Can I make an open-amount UPI QR?
Yes. Leave the amount field blank. The resulting QR does not include an am value, so the payment app can request the amount from the payer according to that app's behavior.
Why should I scan the QR before printing?
Testing catches mistyped VPAs, wrong URLs, overly aggressive styling and print-size problems before the QR is distributed.
Can I use the generated QR as an official merchant QR?
Use your acquiring bank or payment service provider when you need an officially onboarded merchant setup, formal merchant branding, reconciliation fields or transaction-status infrastructure. This browser tool is best treated as a QR-creation utility rather than a replacement for merchant acquiring.
